A full glass door is a daylight decision as much as a security one. Frosted glass gives privacy and soft light, but you lose the view out. Clear laminated glass keeps the view and the light, and it's the pick for a covered porch where nobody can see straight in. Low-E changes the balance again by cutting solar heat, which helps on a west facing entry in summer. Mirrored glass reads as a dark panel from the street during the day. Is having a glass front door a good idea?
